On a brisk Sunday morning last month in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I dropped by the monthly Cars and Coffee gathering. Some versions of C&C predominantly attract owners of “classic cars,” with many in near-perfect condition and detailed to showroom-level quality.
This one had a different focus and younger crowd. Think rat rods, hot rods, slammed cars. Souped up and super styled. Dials and switches galore. The odd lilac Audi S3 tearing up the pavement. VW bugs with ejection seats. License plates reading “RIP PEEP” and “1 VIDA.” The odd feline chilling on a dashboard. Plus modifications/enhancements left, right and center.
