“Vintage” art and design: Back in May 2019 for the Dundee Design Festival no. 10, attendees could make their own posters, using a variety of different pieces of type, inks and so on. Then the conference organisers hung the posters on hoardings in the city centre, which has been massively redesigned and rearchitected in recent years as the city has moved roads, demolished buildings and reclaimed public space along the river, not least in the run up to building the new V&A museum.
But the hoardings remain.
Walking around the city centre recently, I revisited the posters to see how they’ve been aging.
